Mike took off this morning. Didn’t even say goodbye. Missin you already bro. Hope that climb hasn’t killed ya yet. We’re getting ready to go fishing with Emmaus’ friend Justin. He knows a lot of people here. Just riding in some guy pulled over and said hi. Everyone knows each other and even if they don’t they are still friendly. It reminds me of Arkansas, except it’s got more tourist money. Apparently people from Northern and Southern California come here to sleep in a cabin in the woods, and pay $5 for a stack of Graham Crackers to make smores.

I’ve been reading Siddartha by Herman Hess. It’s a good book for the trip. I don’t know much about the author or what he was intending for this book to be, but it feels like I’m getting a crash course in Buddhist/Hindu belief systems. If not, it’s still a very enlightening book. Reminds me of the Alchemist.
